Waukesha's Water Diversion Application STILL Incomplete, again
The Great Lakes Compact Implementation Coalition, which includes Milwaukee Riverkeeper, has been keeping an eye on the City of Waukesha's application for Lake Michigan water over the past two years.
In response to a Department of Natural Resources' 2010 determination that the application was incomplete and request for more information, Waukesha filed supplemental materials on April 27, 2011. The Compact Implementation Coalition has reviewed the documents and has deemed the application STILL INCOMPLETE.
We are requesting that the Department of Natural Resources delay the lengthy and costly review process until Waukesha supplies additional information on a host of issues necessary to ensure compliance with the Great Lakes Compact.
Please see the attachment below for our letter to the Department of Natural Resources detailing the outstanding deficiencies.
